James Group International Announces Lorron James as New CEO

Detroit, Michigan: Today, January 3, 2018, John A. James, Chairman of James Group International announced that his son, Lorron James, will take over the role of CEO effective immediately.

Lorron James, 34, a graduate of Arizona State University, began his career in Community Affairs with the Arizona Diamondbacks organization before deciding to move back to Detroit to learn the family business. In addition to his involvement in the various companies of James Group International, Lorron is also a familiar name in the city of Detroit. He was appointment as Chairman of the Detroit Wayne County Port Authority by Mayor Duggan, nominated to the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy Board by his peers and previously served on the Detroit Financial Review Commission as a gubernatorial appointee. Carrying on the family legacy of service in the community, some of the philanthropic boards Lorron actively serves on are the Children’s Hospital of Michigan Foundation Trustee Board, United Way Cabinet, Boys & Girls Club of Southeast Michigan and Founders Junior Council (Detroit Institute of Arts).

James Group International is a holding company comprising of four operating units; Renaissance Global Logistics (RGL), Magnolia Automotive Services (MAS), Motor City Intermodal Distribution (MCID) and TLX. Since 1971, the family of companies grew from trucking to global supply chain management services and automotive parts assembly.

In his new role, Lorron replaces his father who recently retired from day to day operations of the company. All operating units will report to Lorron.

Lorron will oversee the management, growth, and development of the company. His brother John E. James will maintain his current position within the company and will assist Lorron in setting the strategic direction.

The above new organizational changes are effective immediately.
